Srijan Foundation (SF) is a Jharkhand-based non-profit organization that emerged in 1995 with a dedicated group of young professionals. Formally it came into existence on 07 February 2001.
Founded in 1995 by a group of passionate young professionals, Srijan Foundation (SF) began with a shared dream — to create a just and equitable society where every individual, regardless of background, has the opportunity to grow and thrive. What started as a small initiative driven by compassion and conviction has grown into a respected non-profit organization working across Jharkhand and Bihar.
Formally registered on 7th February 2001 under the Indian Trust Act, 1882, Srijan Foundation has spent over two decades empowering marginalized communities and strengthening grassroots organizations through capacity building, participatory planning, and people-centered development.
At the heart of SF’s work lies a deep belief in inclusion, gender equality, and child rights. The foundation works closely with vulnerable populations to amplify their voices, promote access to essential services, and foster sustainable livelihoods. Through meaningful partnerships with communities, government institutions, and civil society organizations, SF continues to drive social transformation from the ground up.
Guided by its Chief Trustee, a seasoned professional in rural development, Srijan Foundation has evolved into a vibrant, professionally managed organization. The team comprises skilled and committed individuals who bring both technical expertise and empathy to their work — facilitating capacity building programs, conducting baseline and impact assessments, and supporting strategic planning and project development for long-term impact.
Over the years, SF has built a strong reputation for its participatory approach, community engagement, and focus on sustainable change. Every initiative reflects the organization’s core philosophy — that real development happens when people are at the center of the process.
Srijan Foundation is registered as a Trust (Non-Government) under the Indian Trust Act, 1882, with Registration No. IV-24, dated 07-02-2001, at Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, and holds the Unique ID (VO/NGO): JH/2009/0003163.

To empower marginalized communities by strengthening grassroots organizations and building local capacity, focusing on children, adolescent girls, and young women to achieve self-reliance and sustainable development.

SF envisions building a just and equitable society where marginalized communities are empowered, self-reliant, and have equal opportunities to thrive with dignity and sustainable livelihoods.
Goal
SF works to create inclusive development for marginalized communities in Jharkhand, especially women and children, through direct interventions, strengthening grassroots organizations, and advocating for community rights through practical development models and capacity building initiatives.

Promote and Protect the Rights of Children

Advance Gender Justice and Women’s Empowerment
Foster Sustainable Agriculture and Livelihood Models
Develop and promote community-led, eco-friendly, and sustainable models of agriculture and livelihood that enhance resilience, improve income security, and ensure environmental sustainability.
Encourage Collective Action and Community Ownership
Strengthen community institutions and promote collective efforts to identify, plan, and implement local solutions — ensuring that development is both participatory and people-driven.
